• 34 cup water
  • 12 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 4 cups flour
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 3 12 tsp yeast
  • Enough oil for deep frying

1. Activate the yeast

Mix the water and yeast, then leave for 5 minutes.

2. Beat

Add the eggs, butter, milk, and sugar. Beat until well mixed.

3. Knead

Mix the flour and salt in a fresh bowl, then add the wet ingredients. Knead for around 6 to 10 minutes.

4. Rise

Rise in a covered, oil coated bowl for 1 hour.

5. Roll & cut

Roll into a square about 1cm (around 12 an inch) thick, then cut into squares about 5cm (around 2 inches) on a side.

6. Deep fry

Heat oil up to 180 °C (356 °F) . Add a few squares at a time and cook until brown, then flip and do the other side. They should be kind of dark brown. It should take about 1 to 2 minutes each side.

7. Enjoy!

Remove and place on a rack, or paper towel line plate. Cover generously with icing sugar, then enjoy!
